What doors do you open at The Offing?
I try to hustle in more translation submissions from lots of languages.
What doors does The Offing open for you?
This is going to sound really basic, but I just love /reading/ it. It’s the first thing I do when I get to the office each morning. Either it’s a piece that I’ve worked on as an editor and then there’s this sense of satisfaction that goes along with seeing it up, or it’s something new to me. And since the staff is so big and varied, I love the mixture of things rubbing elbows.
What would you like to see us do with the money we raise during this fundraiser?
I would like to see us increase contributor payments.
Anything else? Tell us something about your experience with The Offing and why this work is meaningful to you.
I’d like to say something about our Editor-in-Chief Darcy Cosper — I’ve been constantly impressed with her vision, kindness, and energy. The Offing‘s big, diverse staff has clearly been a key to its success, but I feel like her leadership has let all of that blossom, so that we can do our meaningful work.
