What doors do you open at The Offing?

I am a fiction reader.

What doors does The Offing open for you?

For me, The Offing provides space, community and access. I am learning so much, in an environment that does not diminish or undermine the positions and subjectivities of others.

Is there a piece you’ve worked on or found at The Offing that’s been especially meaningful to you?

Casey Rocheteau’s “Unfinished Letters From the Most Popular Kid in the Psych Ward” and Diamond Sharp’s “Dear Crazy”. Both pieces give shape to experiences that, more often than not, remain woefully under the radar or misunderstood.

What would you like to see us do with the donations we receive during our fundraiser?

To be able to continue supporting the work of writers and editors shut out by mainstream literary traditions and politics.
