Marwa Helal's poetry has appeared in Day One. Her essays and journalism have been published in Poets & Writers, the American Book Review, and Egypt Today. She is an alumna of the New School’s creative writing MFA program and participated in a Voices of Our Nation Arts Foundation (VONA) workshop, the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Immigrant Artist Program, and Cave Canem New York City workshops.
