Katrina Mohn is The Offing‘s Art Editor. She is a Los Angeles native and a 2013 graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) where she earned two Masters degrees in Art History as well as Arts Administration. In her spare time, Mohn enjoys subversive embroidery and pickling jalapenos.
Is there a piece you’ve worked on or found at The Offing that’s been especially meaningful to you?
Ebony Patterson — put me in touch with a gallery that will be great to work with in the future, and I thought the work really suited what The Offing was looking for. I also used to be terrified of writing and working with the Enumerate editors has given me a lot of confidence in my work.
What would you like to see us do with the donations we receive during our fundraiser?
Pay contributors more. In a dream world, stipends for editors (but we have so many!!)
Anything else? Tell us something about your experience with The Offing and why this work is meaningful to you.
Working with an amazing supportive team has been huge for me. Being able to work when I can and take a breather when I need. Now that I’m unemployed I hope to dedicate more time to my work in how the visual arts integrate with the literary. I also don’t know ANYTHING about the lit or poetry scene so it’s been quite a leaning experience!
