Shira Erlichman

Shira Erlichman was born in Israel & immigrated to the US when she was six. Her poems explore recovery — of language, of home, of mind — & values the "scattered wholeness" of healing. Her chapbook Advertisement for a Human Being (Destructible Heart Press, 2007) was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her work can be found in BuzzFeed, BUST Magazine, Muzzle, the Massachusetts Review, Union Station, Winter Tangerine & The Bakery, among others. As a musician she's been lucky to share stages with TuNe-YaRdS, Mirah, & Coco Rosie. She earned her BA at Hampshire College. When not on tour, she lives in Brooklyn where she teaches writing & creates. Photo by Nivea Castro.
