Qingyuan Deng is a curator and writer based between Shanghai and New York. He holds a BA in History of Art from Columbia University. Qingyuan’s arts criticism, mostly concerned with performance art and time-based media, has appeared in Artforum, Flash Art, and Office Magazine. His fiction and poetry, addressing issues of sexuality and class, have been presented at The Poetry Project and Susan Inglett Gallery. Qingyuan’s curatorial practice, often associated with alternative or unconventional spaces, explores the transnational production, circulation, and distribution of affective labor and cultural capital.
