Porochista Khakpour is the author of Sons and Other Flammable Objects (Grove, 2007) and The Last Illusion (Bloomsbury, 2014), and the forthcoming late-stage Lyme memoir Sick (HarperPerennial, 2017). She is a journalist and essayist and writes for The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Al-Jazeera America, Slate, Salon, Elle, Spin, and many other publications around the world. She is currently Writer in Residence at Bard College and lives in Manhattan.
