Nishant Batsha is a writer and historian. He is currently a doctoral candidate in history at Columbia University. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he is completing his dissertation on Indian indentured labor in Trinidad and Fiji. Nishant’s fiction and essays have been published in TriQuarterly and The Awl, among other publications. He is currently at work on his first novel, tentatively titled The Melancholy Of.
