Nat Slater has background in science, focused on human and social insect behavior. This research experience led to a passion for critical analyses and critiques of science, as well as science writing and art. Nat holds an MA in Environmental Humanities from the University of Utah, where they used art-based methods to explore the intersection of environmental and disability justice. Outside of school and work, Nat is a nonfiction filmmaker, amateur nature journalist, and co-founder of SHIFT Cycling SLC, a community group for trans and queer cyclists. Originally from Arlington, Virginia, Nat lives in Salt Lake City, Utah.
