Naihobe Gonzalez

Naihobe Gonzalez is a Venezuelan-American writer based in Oakland, California. She is a fellow of the Kearny Street Workshop’s Interdisciplinary Writers Lab and the Writers Grotto in San Francisco, and an alumna of the Tin House Summer Workshop. Her work has appeared in The Acentos Review and HerStry. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University and conducts policy research when she's not writing.

Notes on Blackouts

I look out the window at our once-bustling city that is now stuck in a perpetual state of Sunday. It’s only been six months since our microwave died, but we’ve both aged so much more in that time span.
“It’s not safe,” I say.
