Michelle Koufopoulos

Michelle Koufopoulos‘s essays have appeared in Longreads, Brevity, and Guernica, among others. A finalist for the Kenyon Short Nonfiction contest, her work has been cited by Politico and Bookforum, and awarded a residency to the Writer's Colony at Dairy Hollow. She is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and holds an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. She is currently working on an investigative memoir in the vein of Carmen Machado's In the Dream House, about a decade-long abusive relationship, and the familial, cultural, and psychological forces that contributed to her choices and her subsequent struggle to understand them.
