Q&A I felt very lucky and excited to be in college when I was there, but for some reason I also couldn’t help feeling slightly humiliated all the time. Q&A What I wanted to explore was a sort of failed hero’s journey. Q&A I wanted to capture the excitement of young lust and romantic relationships that come at the expense of something else; a day of school, a mother’s trust, a friendship, “innocence.” Q&A Beautiful things take time. Don’t give in to internal or external pressures. Remind yourself every day that you are a writer even if nobody believes you yet, not even yourself. Q&A My hobbies and interests are very much driven by obsession, and my writing is the same way. Q&A Just like the hummingbird, I have a hard time perceiving a proper order of events, one image simply leading to another in clear, logical steps.
