Júlia de Carvalho Hansen was born in São Paulo in 1984. In addition to being a poet, she is an astrologer and also teaches. Her most recent books are
Seiva veneno ou fruto (
Sap Venom or Fruit, Chão da Feira, 2016), whose central themes are plant consciousness and interspecies relationships, and
Romã (
Pomegranate, Chão da Feira, 2019), whose poems address desire, eroticism, and love. She lived in Portugal for several years, where she completed a master's degree in Portuguese Studies at the NOVA University Lisbon. She also holds a degree in literature from the University of São Paulo.
