Joy Alicia Raines

Joy Alicia Raines is an artist, writer, and designer based in Marietta, Georgia. Her illustrated poetry, comics, and hybrid works have been published by The New York Times, The Offing, and 7x7 among others. Her drawings have been shown at The Bells Gallery, Yui Gallery, and SMUSH Gallery. Raines’ work-in-progress literary fiction novel was named Best Manuscript Sample at the Atlanta Writers Conference by Tobias Literary Agency. Raines is a recipient of the 2023 Comics Advocacy Group Mini Grant. She received a BFA Honors in Illustration at Parsons School of Design in 2019.
