Hsu Yu-Chen

Hsu Yu-Chen was born in 1977 in Taiwan. He has published the story collection Purple Blooms (Ink, 2008) as well as short stories and book and movie reviews in journals such as Ink Literary Monthly, UNITAS A Literary Monthly etc. His short stories have won Best Story in the United Daily News Literary Awards (2008), and First Prize at the New Taipei City Literature Awards (2010) etc. He was sponsored by National Culture and Arts Foundation R.O.C in 2007 and 2009, and was selected for inclusion in Chiu Collected Short Stories in 2008 and 2015, as well as Sanctuary: Short Fiction from Queer Asia (2019). He has also been a resident in the Beijing Lu Xun Literary Institute (2015) and the Vermont Studio Center (2017).
