Caroline Tracey is a writer and geography PhD student at the University of California, Berkeley. Originally from Colorado, she received a BA in Russian Literature from Yale University. In 2014-15 she held a Fulbright research grant to Kyrgyzstan, where she wrote about landscape and environment in Kyrgyz literature while living in Aitmatov's home province of Talas.
