Ahmad Mostafa Kamal
Ahmad Mostofa Kamal (b. 1969) is a Bangladeshi short story writer, novelist, literary critic, editor and essayist; he also teaches physics at Independent University, Bangladesh. His first story collection was published in 1998; since then he has published eight novels in addition to several more collections of short stories and essays. Major awards he has won include the Gemcon Literary Award 2013 for his novel Kannaporbo (The Ballad of Tears); the HSBC-Kali O Kolom Best Novel of the Year 2009 for Ondho Jadukor (The Blind Magician); and the Prothom Also Best Book of the Year 2007 for his short story collection Ghar-bhorti Manush Othoba Noishobdya (A House Full of People or Silence).
