Evie Shockley

Evie Shockley is the author of four poetry collections, most recently the new black (Wesleyan), which won the 2012 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award in Poetry. Her critical work includes the study Renegade Poetics: Black Aesthetics and Formal Innovation in African American Poetry. She currently serves as creative writing editor at Feminist Studies and teaches at Rutgers University-New Brunswick.
