Teresa Enters

EXT. LA STREET – DAY

Rowdy voices can be heard from inside CRIMINAL GRINDS COFFEE.

Time seems to slow as TERESA (23, cute and quirky) walks into the café. Everyone’s heads turn. Light shimmers off her blonde hair.

TERESA

Hi.

OR…

Out of the glaring sunlight and into the dark café enters TERESA (23, think Emma Stone mixed with Zooey Deschanel). Everyone’s heads turn. Light is shimmering off her flowing blonde hair and glinting off her sparkly eyes. ‘Woah?’ thinks everyone. ‘Who is this girl?’

TERESA

Hi.

OR…

Out of the shiny, shimmery, despondent sunlight and into the dark café TRIPS! (Ugh, so clumsy) TERESA (23, think Zooey Deschanel mixed with Emma Stone) as she enters the café. A few people gasp. She is soo beautiful but doesn’t even realize it. Light is LITERALLY shimmering off her flowing blonde hair and glinting off her sparkly eyes.

TERESA

Hi.

OR…

Picture this: a foggy yet perfect LA day. Picture her: TERESA (23, think Emma Stone mixed with Zooey Deschanel and a dash of Tina Fey). She skips playfully into the café. Not only has time slowed, but light is shimmering everywhere–off of her hair, her eyes, a baby’s bald head, a man’s newspaper. She is carrying a portable typewriter or maybe a quirky notebook? Everyone is in love with her instantly. She giggles, covering her mouth with her hand.

TERESA

Hi.

OR…

TERESA (23, a dachshund mixed with a kitten wearing a houndstooth blazer and thick-rimmed glasses) scurries toward the coffee shop. On her way, she bumps into a boy, RILEY (24, dorky but in a debonairly handsome way) who spills coffee on himself as his newspaper blows away like a tumbleweed down the street. They both stare at each other, in full-blown quirky love. He’s probably thinking, ‘Look at this beautiful Quirky, Quirkster, Quirkington, Miss Quirks-a-lot. How lucky am I?’ She sets her typewriter down on the street. She flips her blonde hair out of her face. She pouts her lips. She flips her hair one more time. It’s so unmanageable! She brushes a lock of the boy’s hair from his forehead, fingers lingering on the amber strands. She giggles, covering her mouth with her hands. Sunlight shimmers. Time slows. Slower. Slower. So slow it stops. Time has ended.
